To host the worlds, you need space for ~112-120 racers, plus space for fans. Roger's old raceway is plenty big enough, when the other tracks are removed. Toilets are also an issue. In Latvia we had lot's of spectators, too, but this would likely be less of an issue in the US, unfortunately. But the most important thing you need is a big organizational team. In Latvia, the team of organizers/onsite workers was 15-20 if you include the 3-4 women who were there from 6-7 am every morning wet-mopping the whole place.
The 1/24 ES and the 1/32 F1 bodies were not up for selection this year and remain the same. The new Russian LMP will be fine. There's a picture of it somewhere in Paul's picture thread. I doubt that obtaining the body will be an issue. There was already discussion about that at the race. On a different level, the center of World ISRA racing is moving East and the center point is likely now somewhere in Sweden or Finland. There are simply many more racers from Northern and Eastern Europe. Many of them fast, most a couple of decades younger than usual US or UK racers. World ISRA is, I think, correctly from their standpoint, interested in supporting this.
The US is the unquestioned center of Retro racing, and we are one of the main and leading participants in high-end wing cars, but in terms of ISRA racing we are tiny players. Remember also that Paul Gawronski, the best regular US ISRA racer, is an active and accepted regular member of the Czech racing team, tho, of course, he races as an American. (BTW, that's a very good thing for all of us, as the rest of us are seen by the Czechs as more or less junior partners. I, personally, have benefitted a ton from this (as well as from lots of active support by the Swedes, Gugu, Alex Leite, and the Brits.)
I know that the 12 day trips are not an option for most US racers, but I think that it would be very good if more than 3 US racers made it to the Czech Republic next October. I'm sure that'll be a great race, too, just like the Latvian race, though I wonder if anyone will ever come up with a better venue and more local support than we had in Limbazi. That was simply amazing.
And now we've seen 2 amazing feats in the last 4 worlds: Paolo Trigillio winning all 4 races in Brazil, and Antonin Vojtic winning the 1/24 ES race by 22 laps.
