The Buckeye Retro Series (BRS) has announced that it will embark on an expansion program for its third season, which will commence in September of 2015.

The BRS will sanction 17-point races, along with two non-point races, which will be split between two separate regions…BRS East and BRS West.

“It has always been our goal to bring the BRS and RETRO brand to as many tracks as possible, and expose the retro-style of competition to every slot racing enthusiast in the state,” said BRS board member Ron Hershman. “We will achieve this next year by racing at seven of the eight tracks in Ohio that host retro racing. By splitting the series into two regions, with separate championships, we will also cut down the distance racers will have to travel.”

The BRS East will feature nine point races, and two major non-point races that will be conducted at REM Raceway (Mentor), Mark’s Model World (Canton), and Route 93 Raceway (Akron). The possibility exists that a fourth venue may be added to the series.

Eight races will highlight the BRS West region, with traditional stops at HMS (Bellevue), Fastraxxx Raceway (Fremont), and T/R Motorplex (Miamisburg) on the slate. Two tracks have tentatively been added to the West series pending inspection and approval by BRS officials.

Both the East and West series’ will race common car classes, using the same rule set.
