Seeing as how this was the "Geezer" race... perhaps they didn't even notice that the guides had come unbolted either... LOL

(or perhaps they did it, just to get those of us who were not there, to see if anyone noticed... or to go crazy trying to figure it out... LOL)

    It's a conspiracy, I tell ya!

Since this is GP7 it doesn't matter what you do to the chassis to get that 2-3 degree up turn in the guide flag, but what about the other classes with integral guide tongues? The rule book states that "the bottom of the guide mount must be level with the bottom of the chassis with no offset". How do we get the necessary 2-3 degree up turn in the guide flag without bending the "guide mount" which would cause the mount to now not be level with the bottom of the chassis? I would really like to know how the GP12 racers did it. I bend mine or I use the Red Fox 2 degree guides. Both ways work.
I've done so much with so little for so long it seems like I can do anything with nothing at all.

They were checking to see that the chassis were no shorter than 4.100

I see that in the first general rule under "1 Scale".

I remember seeing those crazy Mozetti chassis run in the past. No way they were even 4" long.

Is that a relatively recent rule?

    Old wive's tale.

    Level works fine.

    Pointing down doesn't.

A chassis with a .062 minimum clearance in the rear and any clearance less than .062 in the front will have a downward pointing guide flag and that's without taking into consideration the braid depth. I guess that's why they went to .047 rear clearance. It will be easier to get a level guide.
