Brand Of spur gears that are embossed with tooth count/pitch?

Hi all,

So when I ran 64 I always used Slick 7 gears for many years, they wright the tooth count on the hub of the gear, if it's a 39t they wrote 9 on the hub in permeate market, but that would always wear off and sooner or later I would end up having to do the daunting task of actually counting the teeth!

Anyway, now I run 72p, which is virtually impossible to count the teeth on, unless you have ALOT more patients than I and much better eyes!

Luckily the Cahoza gears have the 72p 44t and the angle if applicable 72p 44t-16 embossed on the side of the gear, but as with everything Cahoza they are the most expensive..

Are their any other brands of 72p gears that have the embossment that may be cheaper? I think the Cahoza's are $7-$8? a piece, Something that's maybe $5-$6 a piece would be fantastic.

Most of the other brands Pro Slot, JK & Red Fox have different colors for the different teeth count. You would have to write down what color represents what tooth count.

arp gears are molded like the cahosa gears

Thats because ARP are Cahoza gears.
S&K and BSV have the teeth, pitch and angle moulded in.

The ARP gears seem like a harder plastic, I could be wrong, but Cahoza's seem really soft..

Unlike those with seemingly endlessly deep pockets, my pockets only go so far...

$2 a gear times a lot of gears over the course of a year = a lot of money saved...

If I can save $2 and get the exact same product, the question is wouldn't you?

Because you can't. As with most things, and especially in slots, you get what you pay for.

If you spent time improving the method you use to solder your motors in better, your gears would last longer.

Then either colour code them yourself with a little paint or arm dye on the aluminium boss, or use a fine marker pen like the Parma body marking pen to write the no of teeth on the boss when you first get them.

If the factory won't do it, do it yourself!!!
