    Bernie,

We'll have to teach Reggie how to post his races.

Perhaps a bit of explanation is in order concerning the date change. Wing racing is a relatively small community worldwide. There are a number of major events that needed to be worked around. There is also the "seasonal" thing that needed to be considered when scheduling a major race in St Maarten. The tourist season runs from roughly November to the middle of May. The "off season" is mid May to end of October. Scheduling a race during the "season" is not feasible. Costs basically double for everything, flights,, rooms, rental cars, etc.

With all of that in mind, October has become the best option for many Europeans and we think Americans. The race has been held in late June for the last 2 years and did not directly conflict with anything.. There were no serious ISRA/Wing racers that attended either event. Due to the way the school year runs in many European countries, there were problems for those racers making the trip. We were also "just" after the Wing Worlds & and "just" before the USRA D1 Nats which also affected entries.

By moving the race to October, those issues go away and we are still over a month before the Brazilian Nats. We have seen no entries from Brazil in the past so that should not be an issue. The weather is also a bit milder in October. Those that attended this year will welcome that. It was pretty hot in the raceway! The whole object of this race is to provide a great racing experience and offer a unique venue unlike any other that racers & their families can enjoy together. Where else in the world is a great beach right outside the door of the raceway? Answer, NOWHERE!

Hopefully the changes for 2016 will encourage more to attend what in my mind is one of the most unique racing experiences you can ever have in our little world of slot racing! Thanks
