Cool, thanx lee. What made you guys decide to not have the big payout in euro again? And what bodies are YOU running on your 1/24 cars?

Ian,

A lot of us are running the BentLee for the GTP style bodies. I still run the Mercedes a lot as I feel it is a little better at surviving a crash than the Bentlee. The standard body of choice for Pro LMP seems to be the JK Bently.

BTW: Lee didn't state this but the

no USRA "big wing" bodies allowed

statement is true for all GTP bodies.

Last year Kirk had a sponsor to double the 1/24th Euro payout from $600 to $1200. This year we have no sponsor so it's back to $600. Even with this cut it will be the highest payout in 1/24th Eurosport in the world this year!

Or did I miss something? I looked everywhere on OWH and couldn't find any info.

The link to the rules appears to be broken but at this point I just need one clarification. For the GP10 race, are Super Wasp arms allowed? I think I used them last year but the memory cells, they are fading fast. Too much Two-Buck Chuck.

Also, I seem to recall a tune-up Flexi/Falcon race taking place on the Thursday (or was it Wednesday) evening preceeding the race weekend last year. Will there be one this year and, if so, what night?

the rules link works fine, but you need adobe reader.

i do not think the wasp is allowed. must be tagged contender, sportsman.

yes, there usually is a tune-up race - g-10 i thought?!

FROM 2002 rules....

1/24 Pro LMP
Motor: 1. Any production Group 10 C Can motor allowed.
2. Armature must be tagged Challenger, Contender or Sportsman.
3. All armatures must have a minimum stack length of .440”.
4. Armatures must have a minimum diameter of .510”.
5. Armature may be reconditioned.
6. Any manufacturer’s production armature, endbell or magnets may be interchanged with any
manufacturer’s production set-ups.
7. Magnets clips are not required.
8. Shunt wires and insulation is allowed.
9. Magnets may be glued and honed.
10. Can bushing may be replaced with a ball bearing.
11. Motor may be soldered into chassis.
Chassis: 1. Only South Hill Slots “Iso Pro” Chassis allowed.
2. Only bushings allowed - no ball bearings.
3. Pan movement may be increased or restricted.
4. Front axle not required.
5. Front wheels must be at least 1/2 inch. (.500”) diameter.
6. Rear axle vertical location may be changed.
7. Rear tire width may not exceed .810”.
8. No other modifications allowed.
Bodies: 1. Only JK GT1 or Prototype LMP bodies allowed.

Motor: 1. Any production Group 10 C-Can motor is allowed.

6. Light weight pans allowed.
7. Front wheels must be at least 1/2 inch.(.500") diameter.
8. Rear axle vertical location may be changed.
9. Rear tire width may not exceed .810".
10. No other modifications allowed.
Bodies: G.T.P. or Prototype bodies.


To me, that says no Wasp arms period.

I'm pretty sure the "Tune Up" race was on Wednesday last year. I would imagine it will be again this year as well.
