    Mark Manion.............

SCR partner, perennial tech inspector, "concourse" judge, VMRA founder, frequent (and fragrant) competitor of IMCA, USRA, and USSCA lost his courageous race against esophageal cancer earlier this month. Mark was a prolific and innovative slot car chassis designer, builder, painter and racer as well as a model husband, father, grandfather and friend to all of us fortunate enough to have shared in his life and his slot car racing passion, enthusiasm, experience and generosity.

A memorial/race/get together at SCR is in the planning stages and the date will be announced in this thread when determined.

GODSPEED IN THE ORANGE LANE, MARK!

So sorry to read this. I hadn't seen Mark in a few years, as I'd kinda dropped out of the scene, but he was such a nice guy. A funny guy, too. My condolences to his family, his pals and the crew at Slot Car Raceway.

    Sad day.

A sad day indeed...Mark was a true man amongst men. Made me feel right at home from the very first day I met him at SCR. Although I haven't raced in quite a while, I cannot think of a more appropriate occasion to dust off the controller. Name the date and I'm there. I send my heart felt condolences out to his family and anyone who had the pleasure to know him as he will certainly be missed.
