    Ruddock controller modifier

I have a customer ask me to fix a modified controller. It has the wiper array milled off and a wire wound resistor wire glued on. Does anyone know who made these controllers? I would like to send the customer to who ever did these controllers for repair. If no one is doing these anymore, I need to know how to repair them..

Sounds like a speed shop controller!

Yes... that would be a Speedshop controller. These were Ruddock controllers with a linear upgraded wire wound resister embedded in the board in place of the original wiper contact strip. There were made by Alex Danilchik for Lee Gilbert.

Best bet would be to contact Lee Gilbert to find out if Alex would consider doing any repairs. If not, Lee or Alex might be able to give you some info that might help you help your customers.

Lee Gilbert can be reached by email at speedshop@earthlink.net or get in touch via Jim at Pacific Slot Car Raceways, where Lee hangs out frequently.
