    Gary Orahood has passed

I just heard, via Michael Iga, that Gary Orahood, of GTO fame, has passed.

While not active in slot racing, recently, Gary could be classified as one of slot racing's colorful figures.

    May he rest in peace.

As I posted on FB: A sad day indeed. I was still using my GTO Madman 1 in old Group F just a couple years ago.

Found a spare on my parts rack.

RIP Gary. Your contribution to our beloved hobby was outstanding!

I remember meeting him for the first time. He was very friendly, but pulled no punches.

I told him that the first slot car I literally ever owned was a 27 built around a Madman chassis and that I was then running an old Blaster chassis and that a friend of mine was hand cutting them since they were obsolete for a long time by then.

He sent me a stack of center sections for free.

    RIP Gary
