Well, it's a record for that particular track. As no two tracks are exactly the same, there is no way to authenticate a "World Record".

It is however an extraordinary achievement.

There is agreement among wing car racers about what constitutes world records. Records set on Tracy's track would be recognized by the wing car racing fraternity as a world record. The track record versus world record argument is usually raised by someone who doesn't race wing cars and is not representative of the view held by the actual racers. The only technical issue one might raise about Mike's record is that C12 is generally an American class and isn't raced any where else in the world but that is also true of records in some other classes as well. Nevertheless those records are typically referred to as world records also. So Sam Pan while you are technically right, you are still wrong because for those that are directly interested in such things there would be little or no disagreement that Mike indeed holds the world record in C12 for most laps.

The World of Wing cars recognizes Mikes run as a World Record.

    1. The race was a full track of 8 cars.
    2. The Track at Tracys meets the requirements of what a King track is...

    3. Great run Mike....

    Hi Super Moderator,
Please be sure my C-12 record is posted on the world record page. Shelby Thomas is still posted as having the record of 681 laps. My new record is 696.83 laps (Per my posting) at "SlotCars-R-Us "The Track" in White House TN.

    Thank you sir.

Mike, the other Paul K. posts the World Records. I'm sure he will get it done as he is pretty efficient about such matters. Btw, congrats again, a helluva run. And I believe you mean 696.83.

Tracy's track was designed from the start to break all records. From the banking in the turns to the one of a kind power. So it is no surprise records are falling like flies.

Turn some laps on this King track and then let me know if any records are broken.

    Another "record" was just broken.

The above was the first new post in over 4 days.

I feel bad for Paul, that after being the conduit for slot car news(especially wing cars), for years, that he has been abandoned, for the dozens of slot car pages on FB, where after you something one day, you need to be an elephant to remember where it was, the next.

I've been back racing since '86 and this is the lowest point for slots I can remember. I remember series like Keystone and Mid Atlantic having great turnouts. The most popular scale class in the 90's was 4.5 now it is an obsolete class. Tracks are closing left and right. No slot magazines for the latest news. Just hope it survives
