    * Adding a "Spirit & Intent" rule to help stabilize things

    * JRL stamped chassis removed

    * JRL front axle

    * B Production chassis updated
    *******************************************

    RACE DAY PROCEDURES:

    * The raceway will open at 7:30

    * Please have your cars prepared on race day to assure your participation.

    * Tech for the first race will open at 9:00 AM and close at 9:30 AM. The first race will begin immediately. At the completion of the first race, power will be turned on for 30 minutes. Race 2 tech will open immediately at the end of race 1 and close 30 minutes after the end of race.
    1. At the beginning of the 30-minute tech period, a clock will be set in the tech area. Racers late for tech will be docked 5 laps for each full minute that they are late for tech. This penalty period will run until the race director has finished entering the racers names into the computer, at which time tech will close and the race will start without the delinquent racer or racers.
    2. This procedure will be followed for all of the remaining races, except that there will be a lunch break with clearly announced duration.

    ENTRY FEES and RACE ORDER:
    JRL $10.00
    Open 12 $10.00
    1/24 Eurosport $10.00
    B and Team (A) Production $10.00

    * All proceeds go to the sponsoring raceway.
    ** Please note that in an effort to maintain affordable entry fees there are no raceway payouts.

    CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS:
    * The series class championships will be based on points accumulated in all of the races.
    * There will be one drop race

    Points Awarded:
    1ST PLACE 50
    2ND 40
    3RD 35
    4TH 30
    5TH 25
    6TH 20
    7TH 15
    8TH 12
    9TH - ON 8

    * Ties will be broken by the number of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc finishes until the tie is broken. If still tied, the tie will be broken by the number of times that one participant beats the other in the class concerned.

    RACE PROCEDURES:
    * Lane assignment will be randomly selected.

    * If possible, the number of drivers in each main will be equal.

    * Mains will be 3 minutes per lane with 90 second intermissions.

    * There will be no working on cars while the power is off. Use of tools, tech blocks, fans, etc is not permitted during intermissions. Braid may be straightened; braid juice and motor/axle lubrication is permitted. Tires may not be cleaned, nor may they be treated with any substance during intermissions. Braid changes, chassis straightening, body repair and body pin replacement are not permitted.

    * Cars may be picked up during intermission only for lubrication, lane dot change, and braid straightening. This is to occur in the immediate proximity of the car's place on the track. The car may not be taken from the track to a pit area during intermission. A 10 lap penalty will be assessed for working on cars during the lane change intermission.

    * Should a car already be in a pit area at the time of a lane change intermission, work on that car must be suspended for the entire time that the power is off. A 10 lap penalty will be assessed for failure to follow this.

    MARSHALING:
    * Drivers at the end of their main must marshal the next main, or whenever called upon.

    * The number of marshals must be the same in each main.

    * A 10 lap penalty will be given for missing marshaling.

    TRACK CALLS:
    * For an unmarshalable car (i.e. in the middle of the straight in front of the drivers).

    * Under a bridge or on the floor in an inaccessible area.

    * Becoming a rider.

    * A warning will be given for the first illegal track call. A 5 lap penalty will be given for each successive illegal track call.

    CLASSIFICATION:
    * After each main, a driver's finishing position will be the result of the sum of the laps completed and the last lap sections.

    * The number of laps made can only be a result of the lap counter. No correction is made for riders or missed counting due to deslots or the track braid.

    * The race director must check the lap counting system if there is a sustained problem.

    * If a problem with the lap counter occurs, then the race director must rerun the current segment. If the lap counter fails to operate, the raceway must provide a spotter to count laps.

    GENERAL:

    * We strive to run a fun, fair and affordable series. So far it has worked very well. We have tried to keep the rules brief and consistent. Anything falling into a gray area will need to be approved by a vote of the directors. Any items or issues that are in question should be brought to the attention of Rob Voska.

    * Spirit & Intent; Slot racing is a sport / hobby designed for fun, and competition. Trying to keep the rules simple, affordable an minimal. Not everything can be included or foreseen and these rules are not "fool proof". Therefore anything deemed an attempt to "beat the rules" can and will disqualify an entrant. The purpose of rules are to provide a fair, stable and uniform set of rules, standards and procedures. Anything not clearly spelled out does not make it legal. Consult the board before doing anything outside the accepted given norm.

    * If you would like to propose changes please submit them in writing with a description and reasoning behind it to the series director.

    * Rules are locked for the entire season. Unless something needs immediate attention.

    * Unsportsmanlike conduct is subject to a first warning, then to a 10 lap penalty.

    * There must be only 1 driver per car and only 1 car per driver.

    * Cars will be impounded at tech. Cars may not be touched by the drivers or pit crews until power comes on in warm-up.

    * Lane change is the driver's responsibility. No compensation will be given for incorrect changing of lanes.

    * Lane change cards are no longer required as the cars may no longer be taken from the track. A 1 lap penalty will be assessed for illegally advancing a car's forward progress during a lane change intermission.

    * Per ISRA International rules, interference of any degree with another drivers car while returning your car to its lane, will result in a 10 lap penalty.

    EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATLY; GREAT LAKES ISRA is closing operations after 11 seasons of flat track racing in the Chicago area. I ask that the GLISRA name is no longer used. That way, whatever replaces it has the freedom to start with a clean sheet of paper unencumbered by the past.
