    Dennis,
The OP made some troll like posts 5 or 6 years back.

Not sure why he doesn't want to mention his name.

'Yer gonna' need a controller too.

As far as what's happening in SOCAL.....SCRRA Retro, F Class Wings, and some serious Flexi racing.

Go to the track, pry open 'yer wallet and buy some new stuff. Leave your MOO-GOO and Tiger's Milk home.

When I got back into slots after a 15 year sit out, the only useful items in my box were my tire wrench, lighter fluid, gear puller, and soldering iron.

I remembered that "zebig" had started a similar thread a few years back...
but apparently he still never made it to a track to rekindle his desire to show off his slot car racing expertise.

I had to dig up the old thread (from 2011) to refresh my memory.

Yes... I believe I guessed correctly that it is John Stephan, who was a hot young racer back in the old NCC series days in around 1970.

And yes... I think if he would just drop by Buena Park Raceway sometime, he might be a bit shocked at seeing the speeds of the current days slot cars.

And especially after seeing how fast the cars are... and then someone telling him those are "retro" cars he's watching...

and not even the fast stuff. LOL

    Zippity,

You know by mentioning his name you run the risk of summoning him out of his deep interweb sleep. He's like Beetlejuice.

    John,
I suggest you mosey on down to SCR this week and check out the USRA Div 1 NATS. When you see what an Open wing car does today you may be blown out of your socks. But those are the "Top Dog" weapons of choice of today's Speed Crazed Morons(their own moniker). There is also the $100 wing car or Gp-F. Mike Swiss of Chicagoland Raceway just introduced a $25 chassis kit for the class. Maybe you and John Cauthen can car pool and show the world how good you really are.
