NEUSRA 2017/2018 Schedule
Nov. 18 (27 Lite)
Dec. 16 (TMO)
Jan. 20 (27 Lite)
Mar. 2-4 Barnburner
Apr. 21 (TMO)
Classes to be run wil be :
OMG12: USRA class rules with the exception that Cahoza products are legal. Same rules as used at the North East Nats. Ball bearings all around.
Hillbilly Box: As generally excepted. Including aluminum endbells, Cahoza products.
One Motor 15: as raced in the past, spec gears.
Pro 15: USRA rules
27 Lite : USRA rules
TMO: USRA rules
27 Lite and TMO will alternate racedates. 27Lite will be run on Nov18 and Jan 20. TMO will be run on Dec 16 and Apr 21. Both will of course be run at the Barnburner.
All classes except for TMO will be run using SPEC tires as supplied by Port Jeff Raceway. The Barnburner will have its own tire rules.
Raceway will open at 7:00, OMG12 will start tech at 9:00 and close at 9:30. Hillbilly Box is expected to test along with OMG12 prior to the OMG12 race and will only have 30 minutes after that race to prepare. Tech will open for HBB immediately after OMG12 and close 30 minutes later. after wards each classe will have 60 minutes to test, tech will open 30 minutes after the last race and close 30 minutes later. The power will go off and come on only for the race.

Doug has agreed to stick with this schedule, with this class structure, discipline in running the race is critical . The computer will run the schedule. If you aren't ready you won't race. Every year we say this and don't enforce it . This year will be different. If it means that someone doesn't race too bad. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

Rules update for NEUSRA

OM15, chassis must be production based and no modifications may be made to shorten the chassis by shortening the frame rails and resoldering the chassis. You may still modify pillow blocks and substitute pillow blocks to shorten the chassis but shortening frame rails is not permitted.

No hollow axles are permitted in any class.

This Saturday, Nov 18th, is the first race of the 2017/2018 NEUSRA series. Hope to see you there.

December series race is cancelled. Turnout Saturday was not enough to justify blocking another Saturday especially during December when Doug can book back to back parties. We did have some racers who made a big effort to get here. Ed Green came up from Maryland and was flying in 27L until his motor was knocked out. Keith Keeler came down from Schenectady and won OM15. Nick Cerulli came out to back up Chubby in Team Slots a Lot. Evan Petrakis and I came down from CT. We raced OM12, OM15 and 27 L. Supporting a series requires some commitment by the racers, no support no series.

The next series race will be Jan 20. We will race OMG12, OM15, Pro 15, 27L and TMO.
