Weetbix?

What advantage over a single mag motor does a multi mag motor have ?
Weetbix?

Weet-bix is OK but that is not what I have .
FTI I am thinking about building a multi-mag ceramic D can motor.
Zapping the magnets won't be a problem as I have a magnet zapper
They are supposed to be smoother.
Why do I do this to myself?
Multi Mag motors work with axial oriented magnets.
The magnet pieces create a more radial orientation.
Where the magnets are glued together creates a Hot Spot. (higher gauss reading)
Advantage is stronger more radial field (lines of flux) that the armature cuts through
instead of across.
Are multi mag D cans, legal in Australia?
They are NOT in NZ.

Pro Slot make D can PS2100 with quad magnets . Rules for D can are original D can magnets must be used .
So you can use them legitimately in Oz?
Reading through our rules, and the PS catalogue, makes for some interesting reading![]()

Negative Zippity this only applies to Hornsby Slot Cars . The PS2100 also comes with ball bearings another thing not excluded .
We allow ball bearings in our S16D cans
I can find nothing in our rules that prohibits quad mags.
I Think most multi-magnet motors are used in high end wing cars and drag racers. Radial magnets have a N/S pole for every segment, not just the center one as in a one part magnet.

Would they work on a flat road course?

Eurosport racers might use some....anyone?
Proslot 'semiquad' magnets sort of give the effect and still a legal ceramic C-can single magnet.

Some info here. Somewhere I saw a better description but can't find it.
Also there are multi mag and radial mag motors.
Personally I think it's the wrong road to go down for scale racing.
We need to make it easier for new people not harder or more expensive.
