    9th Annual Gaithersburg 1100 at SpeedZone, 6 June 2020

    9th Annual Gaithersburg 1100 will take place June 6, 2020, at SpeedZone Slot Car Raceway, Mt-Holly, NJ. The race will be the same format of 1/24th scale JK F1/Indy cars (narrow) and then 1/24th scale 4” NASCAR stock cars. As of now there will be no changes in motor rules or chassis rules.

    If I manage to make it I have a big surprise for you guys this year. I've retired the old Proslot arms I was using in the past 4 races and this year and replaced them with some new arms, they will finally be fully built. I have them in set-ups right now and they sound really good. I just hope I don't end up with a car too fast for me to drive, I hate to use choke. My Indy car will also be revised I'm finally going to retire the C7 and replace it with a new C11 like everyone else. Maybe I'll finally make top 8, maybe not but I know I'll have a great time racing with you guys.

    CHANGE 1 to the 9th Annual GB1100 at SpeedZone

    As those of you following this thread know we have moved the race to 6 June. There is one additional major change I have to announce. Due to SZ being awarded the ISRA Worlds, they will be taking down the king and setting up a new flat track. As a result, Tony and I have agreed to move the race to the Engelmann. Heats will remain 5 minutes on each lane, but due to the increased length of the track we will not be seeing 500-600 lap totals. We are still working with SZ for a warmup date on the Engelmann. I hope you all understand and will continue to support this race... Thanks, wjd

    Everyone has been glued to the news and knows this virus is serious business. Also seeing what the Governor has done in NJ, Tony and I are postponing the Warmup race indefinitely. We are still watching to see if time will allow us to get the race run on 6 June. Thanks for all your patience... wjd

    UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE
    Tony and I have waited as long as we dare. NJ is not allowing SpeedZone to open until mid-June.

    I regret to announce that the 2020 Gaithersburg 1100 is postponed until a later date when can determine a good date where we can safely meet and race.

    Tony and I greatly appreciate your patience and you support during this trying time.

    Please stay tuned for any updates...
