    The Journey Begins

Well I have jumped in to track ownership and am purchasing a project of a Hillclimb.

The plan is to pick it up the weekend of Feb 8th near Charlotte NC and bring it home to Cleveland, TN. It will be set up initially in a club situation. The space is snug for the track but will have plenty of pit space, it's@ 20 x 80. Only a block away from the last track that was here in town.

I will post pics and chronicle the rebuild progress. The goal is to be up and running by summer.

This is just the start for us as we plan to expand into a full blown retail operation with multiple tracks(flat, oval, drag).

    Thanks Jay,

I was VERY interested in the UK Black but it wasn't in the cards. Sounds like it is going to a good home though.

On a separate note, SpeedZone PTC in GA has an excellent 1/32 track available. For someone looking for a high end routed home track it is very nice.

    Thanks Gary,
Haven't heard from you lately. How are things going for you? How is your Nats prep coming along?

Things are going good. Very busy with work and redoing our basement.

I am just starting to get my Nats program going. I spent most of today tearing motors apart so I can send in the armatures to be balanced. Over the next few weeks I will be building a couple new chassis. You going to come out for the Nats?

That just may be close enough that I'll have to come visit once you are up and running.

    AWESOME!

I should be around that weekend if you need a passenger, if I have to work I can come over and help with the un-load.

I appreciate it. Wife and son are going with me so that is covered but could probably use help unloading on this end.

I am hoping to race with the MSSRA on Sat while I am in the area. Have already talked with Guy Spualding and looking forward to meeting everyone there.

There is definitely some work to do but this should be a fun track. If you notice the switch backs coming off of the bank are very tight. This is good for space but should require a little more driving. Also the turn marshal on the far right end will have to be behind the track. I will make sure there are plenty of lights back there and along the lower deck.

I was curious and needed to refresh my memory a bit on all the info on this track in the original thread in the "tracks for sale" forum...

So I found it and thought I'd post the link here in this thread in case others are also curious.

The original for sale thread had some interesting history on the track!

Best of luck on your new journey with your new track!

I look forward to following your progress!

That looks like a great track Alan! I'm sure you will really enjoy it. I have many fond memories of running the WSSH Hillclimb. I'm looking forward to Jim getting it setup at PSCR.
