American Flat Track Worlds Results

Well the first race has been run and it was a doozy. The Amatuer LMP race is always a good race and this one proved no different. We have 16 racers that made up full A and B mains. Top 3 finishers were:

1. Jim "Kennewick Man" Hilgartner (He also TQ'd)
2. Kenny King from Lake Tahoe (Kenny won the B main and pulled out 2nd place by 2 laps over Jamy in the A Main)
3. Jamy Johnson from Mercer Island.

Pro LMP starts at 11:00am tomorrow followed by Am Group 10, Pro Group 10, Pro IRL, and Pro 12.

I'll pass on your sentiments to your down under buddy (yes - the Kiwi, not Aussie), but I'm afraid our long distance traveler has picked up some sort of flu bug and had to miss the Amateur Group 10 race today.

We're all hoping he'll be feeling better very soon, as he has looked forward to this race and trip for quite some time.

The A Main was an incredible show with the entire field within a few laps for much of the race, and the top 5 within a lap of each other right up until the finish.

Ray Bishop was in 5th place going into the final heat, with Bob Everett and Bill Clemans duking it out for the lead and Phil a lap back. First Phil ran into some traffic, then Bill did, after his usual spectacular red lane that put him up with Bob after heat 7. Ray quitely snuck by them all and snatched the win by less then a lap, with Phil coming back to make the podium.

You heard right Greg! Both of Herman's cars were missles! Not only did he have the fastest cars but he also ran the cleanest races as well.

Unfortunately I had the motors come loose on both my cars. (Thanks for the use of the DVR!) I was running pretty well for me in the 24 euro but ended up having the motor get a little too hot and melted the solder holding the motor in Anyone have a welding torch?
