Congratulations to Jack Nickel who seems to have taken enough time out from Pro Barfly to place in the Spec 15 Main.

    Congrats!

Congraulations to Jay Kisling for the 4th place finish.

So will you be putting wings on all your Gt-12 cars now?

Good luck to ET and Bonzi

    Amateur Group 12 Qualifying

Amateur Group 12 Signups began a bit after midnight Sat night, following the USRA Rules Committee Pre-Meeting.

There were 53 entries, so the Tech Line was loooooong, and took quite a while to get through.

Qualifying was a single round (thank goodness) with no "bye" round, and just wound up a bit ago at around 4:00 AM!

At 9:00 AM racers will return and may pick up their cars from impound to get them race ready, and they'll go back in impound.

The top 16 qualifiers get to bypass the Consi rounds, and race in the Quarter Finals... the rest are not so fortunate, and will be duking it out in a round robin Sub-Consi and 4 Consi's.

Your Old Weird reporter was pursuaded into entering when Tony Hobart basically offered to set me up with his Group 12 program. Tony plans to rebuild whatever motors I use up and he'll race in Pro Group 12. Very cool, as he has a LOT of very fast stuff!

Even with my "Scale Racer" mindset, Tony's loaner car was fast enough to easily qualify me 14th out of the 53 entries, making me one of the fortunate Quarter Final sit-outs.

There commenced a mass exidus, as many racers filed out to get a few hours of sleep, while a few (including Tony H.) are still here thrashing and testing.

Top Qualifier was Harry Sroka with a blistering 2.6621 that finally knocked Henry Stephens' 2.7117 off the pole, who was then bumped to 3rd by Dave Fugate with a fast 2.7089.

    Here's the top 16 qualifiers:

    1 - Harry Sroka - 2.6621
    2 - Dave Fugate - 2.7089
    3 - Henry Stephens - 2.7117
    4 - Meatball - 2.7179
    5 - Jack Nickel - 2.7252
    6 - Jonathon Sohl - 2.7301
    7 - Merrill Todd - 2.7383
    8 - Earl Simpson - 2.7829
    9 - Jeff Miller - 2.7874
    10 - Mike Fleming - 2.7900
    11 - Tess Miller - 2.7915
    12 - Zach Holley - 2.7981
    13 - Butch Harrison - 2.8037
    14 - Old Weird Herald - 2.8044
    15 - Terry Kelly - 2.8089
    16 - Scott Friedman - 2.8104

The rest will get to run in the Consi's...

And I'm sure if paul made it to the main,He is real worried about posting the qualifing results. I'm sure he has had less then 4 or so hours sleep to boot, So give them guys a break!

( even ow1 deserves to have fun)

    good luck paul!
