    Guys,

I just got off the phone with Paul Meiers..........54 entries in Am Gp-12 / Boxstock..........he estimated the main could run past midnight eastern time. He was back at the motel and planned to return to the track for the main. No race results.

    Amateur Group 12 Results

    Amateur Group 12

    53 entries!

    Concours: Kevin Abe

    TQ - Harry Sroka - 2.6621

Sorry for the late posting, but I was just able to get the results from today's racing so far. With 53 entries, it has been a loooooong day, plus your Old Weird reporter got to take a bit of time out to race wing cars in the Amateur Group 12 race as well.

Roman K has been running a marathon of race directing, and the race sheets were all still together until he had time to sort them out while setting up the Semi's.

I have all the final result sheets up until the Semi's now, and I'm done racing, so I will get everyone caught up to date ASAP.

Don't get your shorts all twisted up in a knot, guidos!

Here's the results of Amateur Group 12 so far....

    6 - Old Weird Herald - 237
    7 - Henry Stephens - 193
    8 - Lem Campbell - 193

Tony Hobart set me up with some very fast stuff and a great car, but I smoked a motor when a gear locked up.
I went fast and had fun, and at least didn't embarass myself by driving a decent race. Zach Holley also helped run my car to Tony and contributed his box full of balistic motors for me to race. Mike (Anonamous) Blevins glued me perfectly, knowing I'd be blipping like the "scale" racer that I am.

I was pleased to see 14 year old Tess Miller make the move-up. She's already a very good racer, not only driving fast but smart - and is very courtious in passing situations as well. Besides - it's a treat to see so many enthusiastic youngsters doing so well at the Nats.

    B Quarter Final

    1 - Lisa C Bechtel - 265
    2 - Ed Gibson - 258
    3 - Johnny C - 256
    4 - Zach Friedman - 256
    5 - Merrell Todd - 255
    6 - Terry Kelly - 254
    7 - Dave Fugate - 243
    8 - J Harold Miller - 0

    A Quarter Final

    1 - Jim Brown - 270
    2 - Jay Kisling - 265
    3 - Earl Simpson - 254
    4 - Harry Sroka - 253
    5 - Jeff Muller - 251
    6 - Mini Me - 251
    7 - J Harold Miller - 229
    8 - Scott Friedman - 213

"Mini Me" (John Davis Jr) drove a heckuva race and was heartbroken to barely miss a move-up. Lisa Bechtel finally cheered up the youngster when she pointed out that he had beaten his dad AND sister. :-)

    B Semi

    1 - Kent Nigro - 283
    2 - Tess Miller - 279
    3 - Len Waterworth - 275
    4 - Jonathan Sohl - 267
    5 - Butch Harrison - 259
    6 - Ed Sohl - 256

    HUGE !

.........was the word Paul Meiers used. He was excited........" I got to the track yesterday and there only 2 names I recognized in the Spec 15 Main...........just Great". He was not even sure if they could get the Expert Boxstock Race in before tomorrow's Int 15 race was supposed to tech.

Les told me tuesday that the expected turnout would be the largest in recent years. A larger foreign contengency was expected. They felt they had a better chance since the race was on a "flat track".

Personally I think this website has served a valid purpose in creating interest and excitement.
