    B Semi - Heat 7

    Heat 7

    6 - Swiss - 491
    7 - Benny - 481

This is one very close race - tensions are high, as there is literally one crash seperating who moves up.... and who turn marshals the main event.....

    Pro Group 7 - B Semi - Final Results

Pro Group 7 B Semi - Final Results

    1 - PA Watson (TX,USA) - 587
    2 - Mikael Silen (Sweden) - 583
    3 - Paul "Beuf" Pederson (ID,USA)- 582
    4 - Mario "MSP" Shone (Germany) - 581
5 - Gugu Bernadino (Brazil) - 563 (bad red lane in last heat)
    6 - Mike Swiss (IL,USA) - 560 (plagued with controller problems)
    7 - Benny Justice (GA,USA) - 544
    8 - Bill Skinner (NY,USA) - 119 (out early after gear problems)

This was about as close a race as you can imagine! Skinner wound up his gear in Chicky's shirt in the first heat, and was allowed to fix it off power, but his motor was never set in good enough and he continued to lose gear mesh, finally calling it quits.

The rest of the field battled with only a couple laps seperating the top 6 places - fighting desperately for the 4 move-up spots. No matter how good, or how fast.... 4 would move to the main, and the other 4 would be turn marshals.

An exciting race to watch, and hopefully a preview to an exciting A Semi and main event.

    Pro Group 7 Main Event

    Pro Group 7 Main Event

Red - Josef Korec (Czech Republic)
White - PA Watson (TX, USA)
Green - Greg Mills (TX, USA)
Orange - Vladimir Horky (Czech Republic)
Blue - Paul "Beuf" Pederson (ID, USA)
Yellow - Paul Ciccarello (OH, USA)
    Purple - Mikael Silen (Sweden)
Black - Mario "MSP" Shone (Germany)

Race to begin at approx 7:45PM ET.....

    Heat 1

    1 - Beuf - 126
    2 - Chicky - 123
    3 - Mikael - 122
    4 - Horky - 119
    5 - Korec - 116
    6 - MSP - 115
    7 - PA - 115
    8 - Greg - 110

As expected, the racing is fast and intense. These racers, 4 from the USA, and 4 traveling here from Europe, represent the best this hobby / sport has to offer. You can cut the tension with a knife, as the crowd watches with nail-biting attention...

    Heat 2

    1 - Beuf - 247
    2 - Horky - 240
    3 - Mikael - 239
    4 - MSP - 238
    5 - Chicky - 230 (motor)
    6 - Greg - 227
    7 - Korec - 222 (motor)
    8 - PA - 219 (bad red lane)

What a heat! There was actually a point where it appeared to be a track call, but all 8 cars were off with the power still on!

Following was a track call to get something out of the slot in Beuf's lane on Purple. An atmosphere of general mayhem ensued for a minute while everything got sorted out!

    Did I mention intensity???

    Heat 3

    1 - Beuf - 364
    2 - Mikael - 354
    3 - Korek - 350
    4 - MSP - 346
    5 - Chicky - 337
    6 - Greg - 332
    7 - Horky - 297 (tires & bad red lane)
    8 - PA - 279

Intensity went up a bit, and tempers flared. Whoever had Swiss in the betting pool for losing his cool in the 3rd heat would have won - if Mike was driving, but he was marshalling.

Everything settled down with Mike cracking jokes and marshalling with lightning speed again and the race goes on...

    Heat 4

    1 - Mikael - 477
    2 - Beuf - 475
    3 - Korec - 468
    4 - MSP - 455
    5 - Chicky - 441
    6 - PA - 393
    7 - Horky - 376 (in pits - gear)
    8 - Greg - 365 (broke something..)

    Heat 5

    1 - Mikael - 588
    2 - Korec - 582
    3 - Chicky - 561
    4 - MSP - 550
    5 - PA - 514
6 - Beuf - 501 (in & out of pits most of heat)
    7 - Horky - 492 (also in & out)
    8 - Greg - 463 (pits for while)

    Heat 6

    1 - Mikael - 707
    2 - Korec - 692
    3 - Chicky - 687
    4 - MSP - 673
    5 - Beuf - 615
    6 - PA - 601
    7 - Horky - 590
    8 - Greg - 588

A lot of destruction and frequent trips to the pits - too many to relate here.

The race is Mikael Silen's to lose, as he is cruising away from the problem ridden field.

    Heat 7

    1 - Korec - 825 (133 lap heat!)
    2 - Mikael - 823 (braid problems, etc... heat)
    3 - Chicky - 810
    4 - MSP - 794
    5 - PA - 721
    6 - Horky - 712
    7 - Greg - 695
    8 - Beuf - 688 (more problems)

    Pro Group 7 Final Results
    (results are official)

    1 - Mikael Silen (Sweden) - 943
    2 - Josef Korec (Czech Republic) - 942
    3 - Mario "MSP" Shone (Germany) - 916
    4 - Paul Ciccarello (OH, USA) - 908
    5 - Vladimir Horky (Czech Republic) - 803
    6 - Greg Mills (TX, USA) - 798
    7 - Paul "Beuf" Pederson (ID, USA) - 788
    8 - Greg Mills (TX, USA) - 787

An excellent race with plenty of drama... the European 1,2,3 finish became a reality after all, but it would have been difficult to call at almost any point in the race.

BTW - There are still plenty of 2003 Nats T-Shirts available from "The Track". Check the first posts for their address & phone #.

Bye everyone - I'm headed off to the Broadway Diner with the gang.... I'll try to get more pix uploaded later tonight.

    Go USA

Gentlemen, ladies I am new to slot car racing and am really enjoying the coverage, Thanks to Paul and Tess. With that said I dislike all the whining, Ex: criticizing a 14 y/o little girl who is filling in is as bad as it gets. I am excited by the coverage and hope to attend as a spectator and a competor in year to come. With that said…. GO USA. Good luck to PA Watson, Greg Mills, Paul "Beuf" Pederson and Paul Ciccarello
