I was hoping we could pick any of the legal motors as a hand out and all types would be available to the racers. Oh well, I guess I was dreaming.
Which motor will be available? S-16c? Contenders? I know, lets run Super 16ds on the Twister.

There will be only one type of handout motor for each amateur class (C12E excepted). That's rather the point of handout motors; everyone gets (theoretically) identical power plants.Originally posted by Copperhead
Just a thought, I see by the GTP rules that Super Wasps, Contenders, SSuper16cs and S16ds are all allowed in GTP.
It might simplify things considerably for the USRA to reconsider the choice of class and run GT-1s on the Twister so only one type of handout motor will be needed.

What do I know. I'm just a snake who types with his fangs
In the right hands, the S16D motor can be competitive on that track, even against a field of sportsman/contender C-can motors. I have seen it done.Originally posted by Copperhead

It will most likely be the S16C or Contender motors that are chosen as the handout motor for this class.

P.S. - Thanks to Wayne H for pointing out that we still have some old files hanging about on our website that need to be cleaned up.

slaphot,
where did the kingleman come from? i didn't know they had one of those there, too.
wayne h.
Wayne:
The Olglvie Kingleman pictured was in the room next to the hillclimb. Kingleman I loved running on it. If you look at middle of the picture of the hillclimb (past the bank) you will see the archway to the entry. I haven't been down in a few months so don't know if it is still there. There was talk of removing it temporarily to make pit space for the Scale Nats. Jawn this is where you step in.
For the above post I just did a quick cut and paste from the old picture gallery which is not up any more but can still access individual pictures. Things may have been moved around some since then.
Heres the links for your picture pleasure:

The Kingleman has gone on to greener pastures. Okay, browner pastures, over in the Tri-Cities. The decision to sell it was made for several reasons, not the least of which was the desire for more ground-floor pit space for the Nats. There was plenty of room upstairs, but I'm here to tell you (based on sad experience at Miserable Ridge) that pitting on one floor and racing on the other is a royal P.I.T.A. Now, there will be plenty of room for all.Originally posted by Slapshot

Really, the track just wasn't that popular, couldn't be integrated into our networked time-selling system, etc.
Still, that sadistic streak in me would have liked to run Grp 10 or GT1 on it.
