    Rule book....

    Gary:

Do you want to look over my copy of the 2003 Rule book? Changes are minimal. When the USRA site comes back online take a look at the posted changes. You will have to print out a copy of the approved parts list from the site. In the mean time review the 2000 online rule book to give you a start.Buena Park online 2000 USRA I/II rules
I will probably get my 2004 about the same time as you if you have signed up.
I can leave it at Lee's or Kirks at the next race or time I run by there possibly this weekend.

    Great Timing, Greg...

Just last night, Mike and I finished a major overhaul of the Twister's power system.

We had installed another, rather badly needed tap on the back stretch about two weeks ago, which made to the most immediately apparent improvement.

Yesterday, we played "musical power supplies" with just about everything we had in the joint. The Twister now has 175 amps of juice, at 12.6 volts, filtered/backed with two 1.0 farad caps.

Way more juice than we can suck out of the wall now, so we're breaking out the extension cords in order to tap another AC circuit or two.

    Sounds Great John

Much Thanks to you and Mike for all your hard work on the tracks. I'm looking forward to getting up there ASAP to test and practice. The power system you describe sounds perfect for Euros, 12s and GTPs. The "high power crowd" will be amazed at how their motors live on that sweet, clean, constant 12.6v. It will make for much better racing.

Great job you guys and thanks to Howard for his efforts as well.

Unless I'm mistaken, the owner of Raceway USA's name is Howard Katz. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Well the new braid is being planted on the twister, and its going to wear me out...but the never ending desire searching for speed runs deep.

So what is the braid depth going to be now that you have changed the braid? It would sure help to know since I knew what it was like before! It would be really nice to come down on the 13th and already have my cars close!

    Thanks!

For the benefit of those that don't know, the braid recess on the Twister was, in the opinion of many, excessive, at .030". Thicker braid, careful prep of the shelf, and the use of the .005" thick 3M transfer tape for bonding the braid to the shelf should leave us with something slightly less than .025". We'll let y'all know where it ends up after we lay the first pieces tomorrow.

This work, coupled with the extensive rewiring and enhancements to the power system already completed will leave us with an absolutely first rate platform on which to hold the majority of the Nat's races on.
