    OMG!
    Best wishes.

To answer your question, we are planning on extended hours for the entire week. Actually we are anticipating that some racers will start showing up over the weekend, so we'll be open from 09:00 to 23:00 on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.

when are handout motors typically "handed out"?

will the .032" clearance option be used?

i know that eurosport is using multiple mains. are any of the amateur classes using multiple mains?

    that should do for now.

Here's the latest info I have on the Amateur handout motors:

GTP and GT1 will use Contender arms.

All motors will have 38 degree timing.

    Mura magnets.

I have been asked not to reveal the manufacturer yet. Sorry.

All Amateur classes will run handout motors, with the exception of C12E.

As I recall, there is no rule regarding the procedure for actually handing out the motors, but they are handed out shortly before tech opens for that class, allowing enough time to adjust, break-in, install, and briefly test.

Herman, I asked Jawn that very same question. Chris is handling that portion of the scheduling.

    Herman,

You should know by now that whatever daily schedule they post will almost certainly be fiction.

BTW, we missed you last weekend. ???

KEX Radio Covering USRA Scale Nats

A big thank you goes out to 1190 KEX, Portland's top AM News/Sports/Talk radio station. Scott Lynn, KEX's top sports personality, was the first of the local media to pick up on our press releases about the upcoming event. Having been an avid slot racer "back in the day", he appears to be genuinely enthusiastic about the event. He spent time with us here at Raceway USA this morning, asking questions, looking things over, and driving a 1/24 Production Stock Car for a few laps on the Tri-Oval.
The station will air an initial story just before the racing starts, and Scott will be back here during the week for updates, interviews, etc. So work on those quotes and sound-bites, racers!

    New braid

The old braid on the Twister (where the GTP, GT12, and Euro classes will race) was actually in pretty good shape, but the bozos who set up the track had made some mistakes which left the braid deep and uneven.

Big thanks to Mike Stahl for the many, many hours of work he's put in on the re-braiding the Twister. We want to have everything perfect, and this task is just one of many, but those of you who've done it KNOW what a chore it is.

Should make that 1/24 Euro win just that much sweeter, eh Mike?
