    Talking What World record

On behalf of "our" long lost friend, I wish to lodge a protest....................

    >"P.A. Watson just turned a 1.624 second lap!
    New World Record!!!"<

Paul, aren't you over reacting a little ?

Ho hum.... here we go again...

For the benefit of our resident "local" New Zealand racer on board...

P.A. Watson just turned a 1.624 second lap.

He did it on a "King" type track.

He did it on a track that looks like it is 155 feet long (I didn't measure)

He did it at "The Nats".

He did it in front of a whole bunch of people who thought it was a pretty darned big deal.

He got a bunch of applause and cheers.

I believe, from what I am told, that it is the fastest lap turned on a King type 155ish foot track at "The Nats"

    ... on a Wednesday

    ... with the sun setting

.... with the lunar alignment in the southern hemisphere

    ... while wearing boxer underwear

    ever

    anywhere

    in the

    WORLD!!!!

    ya folla???

    Jaysus,

Do I get my head knocked off for saying that it can only be a TRACK record??

Just leave the word "WORLD" out of the discussion.

I think that maybe you need some sleep..................

OK - enough of the "World" vs. "Track" record debate....

    Meanwhile, back to the races....

The Group 7 Warm-up B Semi is about to begin.

Results following each Semi, and "Almost Live" heat-by-heat coverage of the main will be posted tonight at around.....

    Exclamation Another record!

Old man P.A. Watson showed them all how it's done by setting a new track (and world) record on the banked King of 1.064 second(s?) during the qualifying for the open-class warm-up race.
Now that's what I call hauling (Tex)***.
