I know that cause I have though of it myself when the local raceway closed down here. I dont blame kenny or mike for their decision cause I would have done the same. This is why I'm taking my sweet time in finding a prime location either to buy or rent with option to buy.
Yeah that makes sense, that is my problem with finding a place. I feel that so many raceway owners have had this problem with leasing, the lease starts out cheap or a reasonable price. Then the owner ofvthe building stops by and see's first hand that the business can be successful and participants are comming in the door, so they say hey I should raise my renters rate and we all know were never going to put a million in the bank. The thing that sucks is I can say first hand I know kenny and mike were successful with their raceway, what I dont understand is why he sold the tracks instead of finding a new location. I also think this is what is hurting the hobby of slot car racing, ill explain by saying you attend a raceway for a couple years then poof over night the doors are closed and the building is empty. I agree some slot car racers or enthusiasts will make the effort to drive to the next location but some are just going to sell their cars and parts and never look back.
The behind the.......The mall owners wanted them out cause they were going all church for tax reasons. Ken was trying to get a 1 1/2 year extention but they really went up in rent....It was decided real quick.
Wow phil I had no clue I talked to kenny awhile ago before I took a break. I knew he hed the place up for sale but he had told me he wasn't going to sell but rather wanted to see how much he could have gotten for it.
Haven't heard anything in a long time. ASR has closed and a hobby store has got the mirical mile track set up in Crystal River. Cause if hospiitle and cataract surgery. I have been out of touch. Are you still trying to get setup or?? PHIL
