    Care Package for Rehab?

    Hey Vic,

Mary Ann was wondering what we can put in a care package for you, Joe and Jennie while at the rehab center to brighten your days. Linens? Munchies?(Hospital food - ugh) Dancing girls...(or guys for Jennie!).

Seriously...let us know what would help, either in a post or send us a PM or email.

    Regards,
    Jeff

Jeff, Thanks so much for the offer, but theres not much we need right now, well the dancing girls sound pretty good Now I know that would put one heck of a smile on joes face Please tell Mary Ann thank you for offering. Maybe a copy of scale auto mag??or some type of slot racing dvd ?? Heck I dont know I do know that we cant wait to get u guys up here to NH. as soon as we can get joe well . That will make a great care package!!!!

Thumbs up Second day in rehab,

Hello Everyone, Well this is day two in rehab and joe is doing great!! He got over to the rehab building around 11am yesterday and It took no time for him to get settled in. At the rate he is going, they expect him to be totaly off the vent by sunday He,s doing great!! Still has a few bugs to work out but he,s on his way to getting home. They cant put a time frame on it yet, but they are hopefull that his stay will be a short one. A couple of weeks maybe? The only hold up may be getting him eating and talking again. They are going to start working on that in the next couple of days. Tomorrow morning they are going to change his trake to a smaller one that should help. We have a meeting tues to discuss time frame, discharge, ect. These will just be ball park, but it gives us something to strive for. We hope each day will get better from here on out, but its hard to say with joe. We hope he,s over that big hurdle and he can go on cruze control from here on out. He,s still very tired because this realy took it out of him, but he wants to get home and is fighting like heck to do it. Now that hes out of ICU he may even be able to get some sleep? At least over here they dont wake you up to give you a sleeping pill

    Talk to ya all tomorrow

    Joe's Track

Trickyvic3, I've been reading about Joe and I know what you are going through. We can't begin to know what Joe is going through. My wife spent 5.5 months in ICU on life support with up to 10 IVs at a time. 6 weeks in a drug induce coma. I used to tell folks when I got through a problem that I did it on my own and had no magic words. Well things change for me over night and I've got a magic word now. "Jesus" My wife wasn't suppose to come out of the hospital but she came home on 19 Dec. If you need to talk to someone let me know. Joe and your family will be in our prayers , Raunchy

    Thumbs up That's Great Vic!!

Vic, I’m sure just a change of atmosphere helps a lot!

Going from that dang ICU unit he’s been in so long now and moving in the new and something different rehab room will/should be a big positive in Joe’s eyes I would think… I’m sure it will give him a Big “BOOST” in just knowing he’s doing better and improving or this change wouldn’t be happening at all

Anything that might give him any idea that things are looking to the better side and not getting worse will probably just make him that much stronger. Gezzz, He’s just been through so much!
Any and ALL small improvements that he knows of will add up to BIG things in Joes eyes!
That’s one thing for sure I think will get him back home sooner!

That light in the tunnel seems to be getting closer I think!!

Things seem to be looking up here buddy!!

We’re all still pulling hard for you guys!

We will know by this monday. I havent been able to write in, because we have been spending the nights with him. If you have the time, could you write in and let everyone know he is doing ok? Ill try to pm you to keep you up to date on how things are going.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stay tuff Joe!! 6 days off the vent's a real good start for things to come!!

    Thumbs up Doin Better

Hi Everyone, Sorry i,ve been out of touch. We have been staying with joe over to the rehab. Joe is doing much better, but we still have a way to go. We had to put him back on the vent last sat night. He just doesnt have enough lung power to go for extended time on his own. Our hope now is to get him off during the day, and put him back on the vent at night. Jennie and I are starting our vent training monday, and if all goes well, joe will be home by june 1st We wanted to thank Mike of Parma PSE for his gifts to joe and I. You have all been so great to us during our hard times. The Parma banner will hang with pride trackside at joes track. So all is going well and moving foward. Joe cant wait to get home and check out his new track. This week I,m going to spend a day and dress up his track. Havent had any time to spend at home. I,ll write in mid week, and let you know how things are going. Hope you all had a great mothers day!!!! I know we did

Just checking in on you guys and hoping things are going well… I'm looking forward to the stories of Joe driving that new Gerding Fast Track with that New JayGee Custom Controller!

    Still doing well

Hello everyone, Joe is doing well, We are still working on getting joe off the vent during the day and putting him back on at night. He is doing a great job, and is up to 10hrs at a time. Each day we try to add 1hr to his time and he seems to be doing great. We still hope to have him back home around the first or second week of june. He says to say hi to all, and to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Hes still not talking yet, but jennie and I have gotten very good at lip reading. We are staying at the rehab with joe and have finished our vent training. Things are looking better all the time. I,ll check back in a few days to keep you all posted. Thank you all for the postings and all the e-mails, You are all true friends!!!!

    Talking Great News !!!!!!!

Hello to everyone, Joe is doing great !! We are still in rehab but joe is getting stronger each day. Guess what? He,s off the vent and talking, and Man is he talking!! We thought he would need to be vented at night but he was able to kick it. We are now working on getting him eating again, and he is doing very well. We have a family meeting tomorrow to discuss when he can go home. Is that great news or what ? I will write in tomorrow afternoon and let you all know how we make out after our meeting.
