First of all, the officiating by Herman James and Greg Gilbert has been excellent. This is a tight ship, things are moving along, not a minute wasted anywhere. It's great. People are getting time to sleep. The Salvadoran restaurant is serving up excellent tacos and burritos. I recommend the beef burrito. And yes, Frank is right, the turnout is amazing. This makes it an event worth remembering. We had three heats in both classes. Race directing by Roger and Laura Schmidt of Mid America Raceway, Montgomery, Illinois was first class, national quality, and with a smile. Mark Manion worked the space bar for a race as did SCR's very own Ryan McDaniel. The help behind the parts counter, as always, is friendly and the place is stocked with an unbelievable array of goodies. Those Carsteen controllers just flew outta there. Well, today is where we start running 1/24th scale cars for the rest of the week, but it was just an absolute blast racing the 1/32 cars yesterday. All the participants were a joy to race with, and great sportsmanship all around...after all, that's what this is all about.
