Wow, talk about resurrecting a thread!

Nobody else ever built any of these that I know of. And these are still the only four I have. That is not to say I haven’t drawn up plans for a whole boat-load more of them (LOL).

Funny though, here it is more than five years later and I still pull these things out of the box to play with every chance I get; they’re just that much fun! And I haven’t done anything to them either, though they’ve taken a beating over the years. The Green one and the Purple one need some serious maintenance at this point. The Red one is still quick, and the Blue one was running like a rocket the last time I took it out. And chasing after someone’s GTP with one of these and watching the expression on their face is still priceless.

So I would still recommend anyone so inclined toward some purely silly fun to design up and build a sled for one of these bodies. Actually, you need at least two. That way you can give at least one to a friend so you can both laugh together!

Redux,

I guess I did resurrect the thread but I also remember reading the thread at the time it was posted . The reason being that I always liked the WOMP cars and have several . Actually they have a spec WOMP at my home track and I'm building one now . They are basic 2 1/2'' car with Plaffit Rabbit motors and fun car to run .

Your version has recently caught my interest . To begin with I like anything unusual and different . I also like working with my hands and have been building drag race chassis for the past few years . I now want to scratch build my own chassis' for the Retro Racing that has also caught my interest . One of your Widicuwous Wetwo Womps is going to be my test chassis .

I'll let you know my progress as it unfolds .

I’m sure I’m not alone in saying I’ll be looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

I’ve always been amazed how well these little suckers handle, especially considering the dimensions; wheelbases run 3.5” to 3.675”, and the rear axle to guide pivot lengths are 4.0 to 4.1875”. Of course, having that 3.25” width at the front and rear ends of the chassis sure doesn’t hurt.

By the way, I admit, right after I saw this thread pop back up, I immediately went in the back to look through the boxes to see how many of these bodies I might still have laying around… Found one OS C-100… Not nearly enough, but it’ll be a start! Hmmmm… I bet I could stick an anglewinder version of this 1229 design I’ve been building of late under that body…

Are the bodies a "hard to get" item ? I hope not as they add that , hmmm , shall I say "sleeper" look to the car !

You might not have mentioned that you love this stuff but your passion is obvious .

I'm clearing the bench for the build today .

I haven't ordered them in years myself (though that is about to change...), but Parma still lists the Kremer body (# 909-B) and Outisight still lists the C-100 body (# OS-214), so they are still available...

To ME, those bodies look like a Porsche P-911, so lets give `em a "cow-catcher", & a "Whale-Tail" (NOW you got some "serious" Down-force)..... Heck w/ the GTP guys, let's chase some WING-CARS..... THAT bunch gets REAL flustered, REAL fast....
