    Great, Doug!

Question: what is the best way to remove the old rubber and prep the wheel for the new rubber?

    Thanks.

    Soak

We soak the old tires in lacquer thinner. The brand I use is Kleen strip, it comes in a blue can and can be bought at Home Depot or Lowes. This brand doesn't stink as bad as others. After soaking for 4-5 hours rubber will just about fall off the hubs. Sometimes you may have to soak the hubs a little longer to clean off the glue.
WARNING work in a vented area and do not smoke! In other words the basement is probably not the best place to do this, unless you want to stink out the house.

Clean hubs will get faster service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Goo Gone seems to do a pretty good job of loosening up the rubber, too.

I let a bunch of tires soak overnight and can usually just peel the rubber off of the hub.

I use VM&P nahptha instead of lighter fluid on tires for cleaning & comms to set brushes. It also works to clean rims very well. I let them soak over night and the rubber will usually fall off.

Are these tires trued as well? And how do you think this rubber will work with the retro D3 cars?

    Trued ?

Most racers true their own tires the day of the race. If you tell me what size you need them trued to, it's no problem. I have a softer compound that works great for scale racing.
