    1/24 Eurosport

    Main - Final Results

(I will add laps later - too hard to read on screenshot)

    1/24 Eurosport Podium - 1st - Matt Bruce, 2nd - George Russell, 3rd - Greg Gilbert
(Hey George! Do you think you could have reeled Matt in, if you had brought your fishing pole this year? )

    1/24 Eurosport Main Results

    1 - Matt Bruce - 580
    2 - George Russell - 576+
3 - Greg Gilbert - 576 (same lap as George!)
    4 - Jerry Herbert - 581 - 10 = 571*
    5 - Louis "Gugu" Bernadino - 569
    6 - Paul Gawronski - 548
    7 - Lee Gilbert - 441
    8 - Tracy Chin - 344

    * Jerry was given a 10 lap penalty for interfering with another car
(penalty was assessed during the race - so everyone was aware of the positions at end of race)

What a race! Very close racing!

    What was the interference?

Did they even have an LMP race at the Nats?
I didn`t see any mention of it.

Yes, they had an LMP race. My son raced in it. It was on the Engleman. I don't think SZ normally uses Falcon-type motors in any of their weekly programs, so it didn't get much press.

Happy to hear the race will be at PSCR next year.

I have to say as a web spectator this was a disappointing event. Very little information and updates and the lap counter shot was not readable. Thank you Jason Hooper for your impromptu pics and reporting, with out them I think we would still be waiting.

No LMP or GTP results either.

I don`t think GTP is finished yet, but I don`t know why there was no mention of LMP.
Looks like they had good turnouts for most of the races though.

There was probably no mention of it because it ended about 4 am Saturday morning and GTP was this morning

Matt Bruce did an incredible job. The ES24 Main was phenomenal to watch trackside (would have been a wee bit more fun from the drivers panel). It was like a great novel and local hero Matt Bruce beat the best of the best. I never knew NJ men could cry until Matt came up at the end of the race with tears in both of his eyes. This was right after he (literally) hit the ceiling after winning the main event. I am looking forward to racing with Matt again soon!

While Mic was hotlapping getting his tires in shape before qualifying a racer put their car on the wrong lane(mic's lane) and damaged his car to the point his hears could not live. All bad.

The A Main was cruising along nicely including for myself until I dumb thumbed it and came off at the end of the long bananna straight and took a hit in the keester of the car. This took out a gear. With under 2 minutes remaining and no chance of making the moveup (unless someone else broke) I opted to go ahead and pull the car and enjoy the finish of the race. Had I not lost the gear or done something else stupid I would have made the moveup as Casey Scott had the front upstop of his chassis go AWOL. Myself and Caseys issues allowed Tracy Chin and this years race winner Matt Bruce to move up to the A Main.

According to ISRA Rules which we use for ES classes a driver or pit person cannot interfere with another racers car. Unfortunately and definitely unintentionally Jerry when putting his car back on the track after some work caused Lee Gilbert to Deslot and this infraction brought with it a 10 lap penalty removing him from the podium. This was one of those things that it would have been hard during race conditions to avoid. In the end it was unfortunate for Jerry but it appears the rulebook was consulted and was very clear on the penalty. Jerry ran an exceptional race and will continue to be a worthy competitor whenever and wherever he races.

    Jim,
Do think my full coverage gear guard would of prevented losing the gear?

Do you think the additional 1 gram would show up in the performance?

Do you know of anyone ever trying one on a hi-performance scale car?

Thanks for the Kind words Glad you like the chassis. My week at the Nats was definitely a learning experience .Had a very good AM 12 race going was pulling away from pack was four laps up and got taken out by another racer . Lost the gear and 14 laps then hooked up wrong and blow a fuse and that was that not enough time to make up all those laps . Change bodys and tires and ran a very good pro 12 race and got 8th 1/32 euro was more bad luck with body getting sucked in so bad theirs still some piece in there Marshall had hand hanging over my lane and hit it going by that was the end of that race. Herman Explained what happened in 1/24 euro . I will be better prepared for next years Nats will just need some packing lessons.
