From my limited perspective, the best thing about Flat Track is the fact there is no motor war in most of the classes.
Group 10 might be the only class that is really strapped.
Besides that it`s all about getting the car around the backside of the track.

I have raced just about everything and right now I like Flat Track the best.
    Please don`t change it.

They run a great entry level class at Bristolville.

Sealed FX 16D`s with 8/28 gears and B-Production bodies.

    .032 rear clearance.

Really fun class that you have to drive.

Everything Greg said is spot on but I quoted that part because I would really like to see us racing those classes in Chicago. Maybe a quarterly one day event?

Words of wisdom about why A-Prod is a great class. I wish we raced it more here in the US.

More downforce = more cost. I have said this for years!!!!

We try and run all the euro classes at the garden State Isra Club once a month when the season starts. Our series needs to bring more racers in not put a class in that only a handful of guys can compete in . With That said A production is in it self a cool class and a team race . i could see trying it at 1 of our monthly races we all have the chassis for it. do it luck of the draw for teams or since we are separating pro and semi pro this year we could do it 1 pro 1 semi pro . will have to talk about this with the guys.

Mic why not make teams of 1A & 1B driver. That way the B driver learns how to go faster from the A driver and makes everyone more competitive.
We did that in our season ending enduro and it really advanced a lot of the guys along and everyone had a good time.
Why do I do this to myself?

ISRA racing draws small turnouts in Ohio because the skill sets are low already and it is perceived as being too hard.
I don`t see an overpowered stock car class making people want to race it more.

Some Retro guys don`t even show up for races on flat tracks.
They would rather run on King Tracks and then bitch about cheater motors instead of learning how to set up their cars and controllers.

I'll bring a competitive Team Production car with a body from last year's ISRA Worlds to the ISRA Nats for anyone interested to try out. Just to see what they're like. I'm not actively pushing to have them added to anyone's program (even though adding them would help us all drive better).

    Greg,

What body are they running? Is it determined by ISRA or is it a local choice? US guys could choose NASCAR bodies but I would like to see Jags, Aston's, etc run instead...

I think they deliberately choose a body that does not aid in handling to keep overall speed down.
Over-powered chassis with no changes allowed, handout motors, bodies that slow everyone down and guess what?
The fast guys are still fast and the slow guys are still slow.
I think Greg's point is, for little cost, learning to drive one of these is the way for most of us to get close to running with the fast guys.

Got a chance to run Gregg's a production car at the Isra USA Championship . a fun cool looking car way over powered but not to bad getting around the track . Going to build 1 just to play with for now.

I still have the car that Greg Gilbert and Jonathan raced and won with it from the world's in Chicago. The car will never hit the track again. I wish that the USRA would adopt this class as a team race.

I have 0 interest in team racing.

I would race A production on a flat track weekly if a no down force body, x25 chassis, and c can 12 was spec.

A class like this has no chance of being a deep pockets race and everyone that puts time in practicing could win.
