    Get Boosted,

Your last sentence is exactly correct. I'd add, these are not beginner cars. They are tremendously enjoyable to drive, more akin to 1/32 F1s than to other flexi classes.

Kinda poking around the forum for bread drums and started reading some of the posts and this one had some people in it that i know so i started reading. the comment "the skill set is too low" stuck out a bit cause there are a lot of ways to fix this. these guys helped me by showing me how to set a car up in pretty great detail. I'm sure everyone wants to keep their secrets and you should! BUT they taught me basics. It was then left up to me to fine tune the car to my finger. Flat track racing was a scary first step into a big pool but me thinking i was way over my head was able to place in the top 3 in 3 out of 4 classes in over all points. I like the challenge but not everyone likes to get beaten and fight back.

my thought on it is we need to get a base of people racing with us weekly in a simplified version of each of the classes. we need to readily share some knowledge with new guys and not just pound them in the head and expect them to stick around. The spec LMP was awesome this passed year in the garden state isra series on the anaconda at least it helped me with setting up my g10 and b-prod. using the same car with a sealed motor and a horrid handling body helped me focus on driving and chassis setup and gear ratio. But again they were there TEACHING me. not just beating me in the head.

im willing to take my knowledge and sit down with anyone that doesn't get how to do the "big classes" and wash away the scary parts of getting into the big pool. me and one of my many mentors are planning to do just that at our track with some of the guys that show interest in it but always say "i can't do that" without cars we have NOTHING. i LOVE this hobby and want it to stop dwindling and start growing again.

Well said Joe I'm always willing to help when I have the time . The LMP class Should be a blast this year with the new body. Looking forward to it. Group 10 should also be some tight racing with the new rule set.

    Mic,

Not having the cut magnets on flat tracks will just slow down the guys that don't know 16d motors. The cut tip mags were a quick way to add rpm and make cars more driveable.

Greg: I am one who likes the idea of the alternative motor list for the JRL and B Prod classes for the Chicago ISRA group. Using the Hawk-7 and Demon motors in a"lights drivers group MAY add racers to the total headcount - and more marshals. I am setting up my JK JRL fleet with these motors for rent-a-rides.

Are we missing an option on bodies for B prod? The JK new style trans/am bodies with the wide cockpit were nice...corvette, maranello, 911, Etc. All Jerry needs to put them back in production is an interest in using them. Some of the molds may need updated rear wings for consistency.

How about a team prod (A-prod) body list? American or Euro sedans mixed? Midwest 4 hour enduro?--30 minute/per driver heat.

Not everyone is going to go out an buy 25 setups and 25 arms to find a good one until they are delved into slot cars as deep as we are. leveling the motors off on the g10 allows a lot of the wednesday night guys at trp to come over and race with us. and those who have time can run mondays wednesdays and the isra series. its all about getting heads in the door i believe. Giving people a set of rules without the word open calms the nerves a bit.

remember without racers there is no race. and we need a lot more racers these days. running 4 lanes just to have marshals stinks.
