hmmmm yeah right, there's just so many beginners joining...

...and then there is also the logic that anyone laying out coin wants the latest and greatest....

More like there are some who are scared sh1tl3ss of getting their arses kicked by someone who comes along with a chassis/part that they themselves haven't yet perfected

    Steve,

As you are fully aware, here in New Zealand, the Falcon and S16D powered Champion Turbo Flex Chassis, is the mainstay of our racing and makes up the majority of the races at our 1/24 Nationals.

Want to support me with a motion to include the JK chassis in those classes?

If the JK chassis is limited to the two piece/closed motor box design(C-21) it will limit the fear of the "Bendies". We will be allowing this chassis in the "Kid's S16-D Flexi " class at SAL. The T-Flex has been the mainstay up till now. With no RTR cars to sell it was decided to allow the chassis that comes with the JK RTRs. It is less susceptible to bending and easy to set up. The T-Flex is getting a bit long in the tooth. Time to let it go.

The Champion Flexi based on the national rules is nothing like what comes out of the packet allowing filing and opening up slotted holes for more pan movement which makes it more a builders class than a entry level, i had to flatten well over 100 Flexi and GP chassis for people around the country a few years ago and for free ! To which they profited from it so that wont happen again i assure you.

The X25 needs little done to it out of the pack with some bracing at the rear no lead is needed nor tape and definitely no filing or any other material removed they just work, im all for this as a national chassis but im more in favor of a controlled laser cut chassis they are stronger and nothing can be changed on them we then have more control over what is used regardless what manufacturers produce or delete its light the FK motors its a lottery to what you get.

    Zip,

I don't think you'll have to many complaints changing chassis if you paid the bill to replace everyones TFs. Not to mention a lot of racers in NZ don't build their own cars, so you'll have to sweet talk some builders.

Its all about attendance my man! Count yourself lucky you don't have to travel and so many people will make the trip to Wellington several times a year.

    Kieran,

I hear what you are saying.

And yes, we are spoilt here in Wellington

    See you at the Enduro.

Spending $700 on a hand controller versus $30 for one chassis is a bit hard to swallow at times

I get that Kieran, but $30 wouldn't stop anyone really if they were interested in the hobby and could see the benefits. Just this motor change alone to the PS4002 should see more than that in savings from constant replacement Falcons. Plus I believe the introduction of new technology (not that the JK Chassis is really 'new') introduces more excitement and is likely to hold people around.

The so called production class Turbo Flexi chassis is the the most modified chassis in the country and nothing like out of the packet however the X25 needs little done to it and nowhere near changed as the TF to run well, i guess its about how open minded people are and how much control they want over winning a chocy fish.

I never hear anyone complaining about their OG12 or ES24 chassis or modding the hell out of it, the $30 TF chassis with a days worth of work on it to get it right ( even then your not guarantied what you end up with ) and the lack of top runs willing to share know how on running them makes for a top heavy class between them and us.

Along with the fact people own alot more than on of them and every year keep buying more doesnt make for a cheap class in fact its the most expensive class to run by far.

This for those that have ahd some/any experience with the PSFK motor. What has you experience been, and what I mean, if you bought 5 motors, how many were actually good race motors, how many pretty good and how man practice motors? How much do these motors vary on the track? 2 tenths, 3 tenths less than a tenth?... Now please only respond if you have had true experience and not just opinion.. TIA....
Why make it tougher than it really is?
