    4002fk vs hawk6

Hey guys these motors are new to me but need input. Looking for info on which is faster or quicker. What I want is a spec motor for an entry level heads up class. Allowing new racers a chance to rebuild and tinker

The motors run very similar, we use them interchangeably in monthly race classes for hardbody cars (180-200 gram) and sub 100 gram flexi cars. By design, the Proslot 4000 series FK is a sealed motor to make them equal and not rebuilable, but.......different armatures are made that fit both motors. Due to the slight can mass difference, the Hawk motors rev slightly higher and should be geared different than the Proslot motors.

Thanks . I ordered a few fk motors to test along with some hawks we already have. If it proves there is no performance advantage then mayve allow both

    4002fk vs hawk6

I think the Hawk and PS4002FK may be more even. The Hawk6 is slower than the Hawk if memory serves me right. You could always try the unsealed PS4002 Euro which has ceramic magnets and is smoother

The Hawk-6 and the PS-FK have the same type magnets. The higher revving Hawk has weaker magnets like the regular puppy dog PS.

I've been told the hawk mags are weaker, but for me the big difference is the lack of center bar in motor that affects the magnetic field and lets the arm rev more...In our racing my hawk has slightly less torque exiting corners making it easier to go fast under certain conditions.. We allow the center bar to be removed on PS setups.. So far my two PS motors are both just a tic faster down our main chute but not always faster around our track... A lot depends on body of the month and track conditions... For RETRO style racing I'd guess the PS would be faster than anything else due to the center bar meaning more torque to pull those heavier lumps around the tracks... If I wanted to bother I'd have someone time the various motors from leadon to bank entry to see which is faster from point A to point B.. On our track the main chute means a lot and you canb't afford to give up much but the infield speed still counts for a lot... You just can't give up 5' down the chute and make it up...Maybe a couple of feet max you can give up and still be competative with race winners... Anything more than that and it's game over...
