Just got home from spending two days running the new track at Mid-America prepping for the upcoming Worlds. Many thanks to Roger for the hospitality and an awesome racetrack. The track is a ball to run!! Being a newbie to all things flat, it’s quite a challenge and left me shaking my head more then few times. But with some patience and set up help, I started to get around fairly decent. Well, for me anyway.
I do want to thank the folks that took time from their test day to shorten my learning curve. Everyone went above and beyond my expectations to help me with car set up, driving tips and lots of laughs.
My two new friends from Brazil, Alex Muniz and Flavio Araugo. My apologizes if I have your names spelled wrong. It was fun spending time with you both.
Jason Hopper, Andy Wasserman and Geary Gaspord many thanks for the car set up tips. I can’t thank you enough.
And of course Rob Voska for giving me the opportunity to make the trip and all of his spoon feeding through this flat track process.
Sadly my time with my new Brazilian friends was cut short today as they had to head home to prepare to race against the worlds best in just a few short weeks. I did snap a picture of Alexandre boarding his plane..
Thanks again to all for your help and see you in a few weeks!
