    Brushless Motors

Is there any interest out there for learning about and sharing experiences for this new exciting form of slot car racing?

Wish we had a "Like" button on here...
    we could count the likes.
Everyone has gotten shy or lazy about posting.

There is a brushless group and some discussion on random groups on Facebook on brushless motors on occasion...
but the trouble is that you need to read it right away... and it is difficult to find info later on Facebook.

The advantage of forums is that info and topics are grouped so you can browse topics and discussions later, and catch up on what has already been posted.

So... it might be a good idea to add a Brushless Motor sub-forum and see if anyone jumps in and posts info here.

    Worth a try....

I set up a new "Brushless Motors" sub-forum for the discussion and sharing of tech & info related to brushless motors used for slot car racing.

It might be a bit hard to find - but new posts will always show up in the "What's New" and from "Zippity's Button" links.

    Here 'tis:

I'll move this thread and leave a redirect in the main forum to help kick it off.
(I tried to just copy it but it only let me move it... )

    Thanks for the suggestion Zippity!

    Bon Appetit!

For those of us that are not on fb you can drag as much of it as you want and post here so everyone can see it.

I think at this point it's not the motors that are a big thing but the controller boxes that determine when it goes mainstream. Then chassis design will change completely with the tiny motors.
Why do I do this to myself?

    Thanks, Paul.

I agree with Rob - FB is NOT everybody's cup of tea.

Finding a previously read post on Facebook can be a pain in the *rse.

These brushless motors are such fun to drive.

Very smooth with beautiful handling and speed.

Have they gotten rid of the delay after a track call?

There is no lag with the newer UK/European or NZ made ESC's.

The Talon 25 and the cheap Chinese ESC I run, are the only ones with any lag

ESC's are like Hen's teeth at the moment, and even rarer if you can find one to buy.

ESC are available from the following, when you can get them:

    Castle (USA) - Talon 25
Bob Budge/Richard Mack (UK) - SBM ECOM
    Stefano Mirabelle (Italy) - Modeldrome
    Eben Brand (NZ)
    Ali.express for Cheap Chinese ones
